Ira McDonald Construction started as a small builder in 1941 by Ira E. McDonald (1913 - 1971). His three sons have developed the company into a well established organization which has maintained its successful reputation within the construction industry. The company was incorporated in 1961.

We utilize the latest in technological advancements to manage the construction procedures from estimating, to job-start up, to accounting, to job-close out. IMC has been operating computer aided programs such as Timberline Precision Estimating Software from our Estimating Department to Timberline Gold in our Accounting Department. The estimating software allows us to maintain and update our cost database on a regular basis to maintain our competitive edge in the construction market, have a permanent record of all estimates, print out various reports for evaluation, easily manage and control subcontractor pricing. The accounting software allows full interaction between estimating - project management - accounting. Information is easily transferred from estimating to accounting through the Timberline programs. The accounting program allows for accurate management of purchase orders, change orders, job costing, and allows the project manager and the accounting department to correlate. Microsoft Project allows the IMC team to produce construction schedules for the Project Managers, Superintendents, Sub-trades, Owners and clients. Our Project Managers and Superintendents are all wired with laptops, wireless networking and phone capabilities which allow them to connect to the office virtually, in order to create the seamless communication between all parties.
Our staff is current in their qualifications in Health and Safety and WHIMIS Certification as a part of the IMC Safety Policy. It is our belief that every person in the construction industry is entitled to work in a safe and healthy construction environment.
